Dear Roth Families and Employees,Last week, Rochester City School District (RCSD) issued a statement regarding an unfounded threat against schools that is circulating throughout the nation. It is my understanding that some Roth students are sharing the RCSD memo and incorrectly identifying it as a post from Rush-Henrietta, also known as RHCSD.
Here’s what I need you to know: Rush-Henrietta has not been the target of the threat.
This rumor caused significant interruption to classroom instruction. We will continue to remind students to view social media content with a discerning eye. This also is another example of why student cell phones should be off and away during the day.
Nothing is more important to us than the safety of students and staff. Let’s continue to partner together closely this year to keep our school as safe as possible. Our 24/7 Safe School Helpline is available to confidentially report situations that may pose a threat to the safety or well-being of Rush-Henrietta students, staff, or school property. Call 800-4-1-VOICE ext. 359, or text TIPS to 614-426-0240. To report an emergency situation, always call 911.
We’re off to a great start this year at Roth Junior High School. I look forward to seeing everyone at school tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Omar Hussain
Principal
