My Experience

  • What I've Done:

    • Previous to coming here to Rush Henrietta, I have been in private practice as a mental health and family therapist for the past 18 years.
    • I have served the young adult population in our area teaching as an adjunct professor at Nazareth College of Rochester for the past five years. I teach Working With Family Systems and Addiction for their graduate School of Social Work Program. I also work as an adjunct professor for the undergraduate School of Social Work, teaching the course, Drugs and Society.
    • I have been an adjunct professor at Monroe Community College for 13 years, since 2003.  I taught three courses there: Drugs and Behavior, Stress Management and Death and Dying.
    • For ten years, from 1987 until 1997, I worked at the Chemical Dependency and Drug Rehabilitation Clinic at Park Ridge Hospital. I served three years on the adolescent inpatient unit and seven years on the adult outpatient unit as a primary and family counselor.
    • I completed my Masters in Social Work from Syracuse University in 1987.
    • I completed my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Nazareth College in 1982.
    • In 2013 I created a 10 minute film to help people contemplate the power of choice and the wonder of human existence. It is called the Miracle Train of Life, and you can click here to watch it.
    What I think:

    • I am inspired by human excellence in the arts, sciences and athletics.
    • I am inspired by the wonder and beauty of the natural world.
    • I am inspired by the spirit and enthusiasm of our young people-their creativity and sense of possibility.
    • I am fascinated by the potential of the human mind-by what it can attain for the good of oneself, others and the planet.
